My approach to wellness uses Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) as a framework. IPT focuses on the interpersonal relationships of the client. The idea of interpersonal therapy is that improving the communication patterns and how people relate to others can treat problems.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
The underlying concept behind CBT is that our thoughts and feelings play a fundamental role in our behaviour. The goal of cognitive behaviour therapy is to teach clients that while they cannot control every aspect of the world around them, they can take control of how they interpret and deal with things in their environment.
It is used to deepen our awareness of our feelings and ourselves. “Gestalt” means the whole – it implies wholeness. In any experience or interaction there are feelings in the foreground and in the background. The idea in Gestalt therapy is that we have had to repress or supress aspects of ourselves because they were not accepted or supported. It is these aspects of us or our feelings that end up in the background and can become unfinished business.
